Wrapping up the final week of 2023 with a distinctive shift in trends, the global mergers and acquisitions (M&A) landscape

During the week spanning from December 18 to December 24, the global market witnessed the announcement of 429 significant mergers and acquisitions deals, collectively amounting to an impressive USD 89.94 billion. Notably, nineteen of these transactions surpassed the USD 500 million threshold, contributing substantially to a remarkable USD 82.23 billion —equivalent to a striking 91% of the total M&A deal value for the week.

During the week of December 11 to December 17, the global market witnessed 451 Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) deals, totaling 49.25 billion USD. Nineteen of these deals exceeded 500 million USD, contributing to a substantial 43 billion USD, —equivalent to a striking 87% of the total M&A deal value for the week.

Echoing this trend, during the week of December 4th to December 10th, the global market saw heightened mergers and acquisitions activities, with a noteworthy total of 453 deals amounting to a substantial USD 33.87 billion. Notably, 14 of these transactions surpassed a deal value of USD 500 million, contributing a cumulative USD 25.62 billion. This represents a striking 82% of the total M&A deal value for the week.
