Kyle SigmundParticipantCurious to hear from this forum what content or materials you wish were provided in the CPMI course?

Margarita B.ParticipantHi Kyle,
Currently working through the CPMI course with my team. Even though I am not finished, I did want to add a reply to your topic around integration planning from a timing perspective. This may still come up in later materials, but as an integration manager, I am keen on learning the precise or “industry recommended” timing when planning for an upcoming integration. Particularly, I’d like to better understand how companies balance keeping a potential deal confidential from the greater business until it’s a viable deal while also bringing in functional business leaders to aid in planning.December 13, 2024 at 2:51 pm #132476
Lexi KakarParticipantInformation on the client / customer component. How do you communicate changes with customers? How do you deal with cultural shifts from that perspective?

Jennifer SchramParticipantHi Kyle,
I am currently completing Module 1 of 4 in the CPMI program. Module 1 which focused on M&A Essentials I found to be quite thorough and I’ll be starting the Functional Integration module next. That being said, while I know other IMAA programs do a deeper dive in the legislative environment and due diligence related, it would be great to have additional content on the legal outcomes and perspectives as a compliment to the due diligence portion as this can vary by region. I also ran into a firewall issue with EBSCO which technically prevented me from being able to access one of the required readings in Section 6. Having to purchase this book to complete that was a bit frustrating but IMAA was responsive and they’re working with them to resolve this issue.
Hope that helps!

Lena FrieseParticipantI really liked the examples and case studies in the first course. I would like to also add some more industry topics to the DD course or change management course for example.

ParticipantInstructing on (1) how IMAA tools can be incorporated into the respective courses and (2) recommending detailed versions of certain tools, plans, templates not included on IMAA would be enhance real world application.

Dom BourgeonParticipantI have requested for the faculty to look into the playbook that was supposed to be in the Integration & Synergies modules with templates and so on.
I miss these practical tools.March 20, 2025 at 3:07 pm #138561
Joseph NecklesParticipantI do find certain parts of the course to be high level and not as granular. As others have mentioned, I would appreciate the inclusion of templates, cultural fit assessments (what are ways to enhance this experience for employees impacted), best practices for leveraging templates, and key considerations to keep in mind during any assessments. However, I still have additional modules to complete, so I hope these topics will be covered in the later sections.

Max-Egon U.ParticipantHi Joseph,
in the Integration and Synergies Section of the CPMI, I also found there is frequent mentioning of the materials (tools, processes, models) which are being made available to the learners, but I so far failed to find these. Or is there such a repository and I just couldn’t find it so far?

Paige BuffkinParticipantI wish there was a section more focused on procurement and that end of integrations. I know its briefly mentioned but a Module with more dedication to this topic would be helpful.

ParticipantWhat is missing to me are practical tools (templates, for instance) and examples to discuss and to reason about to bring the very high level and theoretical approach to reality and to provide tools to use when directly involved
