    Could an acquisition sometimes be treated more like onboarding new employees—provisioning them with the acquiring company’s standard identity, devices and applications—rather than undertaking a complex IT estate merger? The answer depends on factors such as employee numbers, application complexity, regulatory requirements, data dependencies, critical systems and business continuity risk, raising the question: at what scale does “onboarding” stop being a viable integration strategy?
